Sometimes, we don’t reach a goal in our lives, because we lose focus – we may actually lose sight of the goal we had. This usually means that we get off track. We are doing so well for a while… we’re eating right… exercising… and then winter comes… and we want to eat comfort food and sit on the couch and watch a movie. Sound familiar?
This type of thing can happen in other areas of our lives too. We can get sidetracked and lose focus of what’s truly important. In our spiritual lives, my challenge to you would be to keep your focus on Christ. Follow Him. Listen to His voice. Read His Word. Meet with people who encourage you to stay focused on Him. Pray. Get rid of the things that hinder you.
Hebrews 12 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
Keep your eyes on Him!
