People who have naturally straight hair, often desire curly hair. Those that have curly hair, want straight hair. Why aren’t we ever satisfied? Why do we compare ourselves to others and are discontent with what we have?
This type of activity often occurs in church settings, you know. People want to be able to sing like so-and-so or play the piano like Joe. People think that others are so gifted and they don’t have much to offer.
This isn’t the truth! This is not how God designed the church to operate!
EVERYONE is EQUAL in the body of Christ! The worship leader isn’t more important than the one who vacuums the carpet! The pastor isn’t more important than the Sunday School teacher! Isn’t that liberating?!
Follow Jesus and do what He calls you to do. Stay close to Him. Love Him with all your heart, mind and strength. Stop comparing yourselves with others. Be concerned about what He thinks about you. You will never be able to please people, but you can please God.
Colossians 1:9-10 – So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.
God bless!
