Alice Belle Garrigus received the call from God to go to Newfoundland in 1908. Newfoundland was an unknown place to her. She was an American. She was a woman. She was single. She was 50 years old. She was a school teacher by profession and a traveling preacher. She arrived in Newfoundland in 1910. She is considered to be the founder of the Newfoundland Pentecostal movement.
I have to say that when I read about Sister Garrigus, I was inspired. I said to myself that if God can use her, He can use me! This shook my mindset.
I do not believe that God is finished with this province yet! I do not believe that God is finished with our communities yet! I do believe that God is still calling people to declare His good news to the world!
It doesn’t matter how old you are. It doesn’t matter how educated you are. It doesn’t matter where you come from. It doesn’t matter if you’re single or married. If God is calling you, please answer the call! You may not see the picture clearly, but God does. He will provide you with what you need to fulfill your destiny.
Go for it! God bless you today!
