God wants to heal our broken hearts.
God wants to heal the one who has been emotionally wounded… the one who has been betrayed… the one who is in such inner turmoil that they can’t eat or sleep… the one who has been so disappointed in the way their life has turned out that they think they’re in a bad dream.
Psalm 34 says, “The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time (verses 17-19).
Isaiah 61 says, “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed (verse 1).
Friends, there’s good news for those whose hearts have been shattered! God wants to comfort us when our hearts ache terribly. He wants to fully restore us after painful heartbreak.
I believe God is the only one who can heal the broken heart. No person can do this. God is the only one who can change a person’s heart and He’s the only one who can mend and renew that intricate piece of us – our hearts.
It’s important for us to give our hearts to Him so that He can make our hearts whole again.
Have a marvelous Monday! God bless you!
