When I was growing up, my father and I would go for walks together. I especially remember walking together in the wintertime. My father would always hold my hand. I was probably wearing gloves or mittens to keep my hands warm. However, on those cold days, Dad would not only hold my hand, but he would take my hand in his and place them in his pocket. I always found this to be so comforting – my hand in his hand in his pocket! What security!
This security is expressed so well in the hymn “He Leadeth Me”. I love the following verse:
“Lord, I would place my hand in thine,
nor ever murmur nor repine;
content, whatever lot I see,
since ’tis my God that leadeth me.”
We can trust God fully. We place our hand in His hand. He then walks with us and leads us where we need to go.
Let Him lead you! God bless you!
Stay tuned for part 3.
