The Sacrifices We Make

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

I remember when I was working in Stephenville and I was dating Steve. Steve was still in St. John’s… long-distance relationship. I remember one evening he had a ride as far as Gander. He wanted me to pick him up in Gander and then we’d spend some time together in Springdale.

What did I do? I worked all day, then got in my car and drove to Gander. Then we made our way home to Springdale. Crazy what we’ll do for love! hahahaha

When you truly love someone, you will make sacrifices for them. We often hear about how much God loves us, but how much do we love Him? Just how far would you drive for Him? What would you be willing to sacrifice?

What might loving God require you to give or let go of? How can you respond to Him with a willing heart?

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for Your great love for me. Help me to love You with more than words. Show me what it means to surrender my plans and serve You willingly. May my choices reflect my love for You. Amen.
