Last Resort

I love this passage:

It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Have you ever had the experience where someone called you to do something and you were not the first one asked? Maybe you were way down on the list… and they called you because they were stuck.

I think we treat God like that at times. When all else fails, we turn to Him.

We should turn to God first. No matter what situation we face, we need to pray about it. We need to trust Him with it. If you need answers, ask Him for guidance. Read the Bible and it will help you make the right choices.

Don’t put God off… the earlier you start to serve Him, the better. Let Him help you choose your career in life… let Him help you choose your spouse… Life would be smoother, I believe, if we allowed Him to help us make the right choices in the beginning, rather than having to ask Him to get us out of the tangles we get ourselves trapped in!

If you’re in a tangled mess, don’t despair! God is faithful. He will help you. This is a brand new day. Choose Him today.

Let God be your first choice. Don’t make Him your last resort.

What situation do you need to bring to God? What guidance can you find in the Bible as you seek His help?

Prayer

Father, forgive me for the times I have turned to You only after trying everything else. Thank You that Your compassion never fails. Help me to seek You first, listen to Your guidance, and trust You with the choices before me. Amen.
